CHILD & YOUTH WELLBEING DEVELOPMENT
The mental health and wellbeing of children and youth in Jamaica is key to the development of the island’s future. It is well documented that poverty, dysfunctional family structures, and other social challenges have a direct impact later on in the adult lives of children. With limited time, resources and knowledge there is little or no support for children and young people to cope with the day to day stresses and overall emotional well being. The Child & Youth Wellbeing Project aims to equip children in particular with the necessary skills to understand, cope and improve their emotional and physical wellbeing. Volunteers provide support to children and youth in schools and community settings.
